I bit the bullet and finally bought some Ariat Grassmere boots after the lining broke in my Dublin River boots and I am sooo happy with them

they really fit my legs so snuggly and they are SO warm!!!

The snow kept them lovely and clean obviously but now we are descending back into mud and wet I was wondering if any of you could recommend the best way of cleaning/taking care of them?? Obv. I don't want to do anything that will damage the leather or diminish the waterproofing, but am desperate to at least try and keep them looking lovely and new....for now!
I see Ariat do their own range of care products, is it worth getting them or is their another version you recommend?

Cheers

We are a family who like Ariat boots, not sure if we do the right thing, but we clean off using Belvior tack cleaning spray, it removes grease and mud really easily. We do tend to use the Ariat care range, like the waterproof spary and polish. Just be careful to polish the area that bends at the base of your toe well, it seems to be the bit that wears quickest and tends to dry out and crack.
Have had a pair of Grassmeres for about 7/8 yrs, they have seen really hard use, riding yard work and walking around events, youngest daughter pinched them from me 2 yrs ago and they are still going strong.
Its like everything really the better you look after it the longer it should last.

Thank you, good to hear they last and wear so well!

I have the Belvoir tack stuff so good to know that works. Think I will just go ahead and buy the Ariat boot care stuff and try my best - i really wana make an effort to keep them nice as they cost so much and I am so pleased with them!

i dont use any of the ariat cleaning range...but they are supposed to be good

i just use belvoir tack cleaning spray and a cloth to remove mud and grease - amazing stuff, really 'strips' the leather right down to the surface without damaging it atall. i then use belvoir tack soap to soap the leather...

and THEN i use neffax leather bsalm....really stops cracking/hardening etc keeps it supple...plus it smells soooo good
