Recently my Ariat boots keep unzipping when I ride, which is rather annoying.

They are not too small (or too big). I have tried tightening them, loosening them, but can't keep the zips up once I start having to use my legs (it doesn't happen out hacking)

Anyone had similar problems or know how to solve?

Are they short boots that you wear on their own. If so then try wearing some chaps/gaiters with them and they should 'hold them together'
I always wear leather gaiters with my short ariats so haven't ever had this problem.

If they're a recent purchase, perhaps complain to the manufacturer. Otherwise, you can get the zips replaced at a cobblers.

The problem with conistons is they are more a fashion boot with a riding sole. Is the zip stopping at the widest part of your calf? The bromonts are fantastic to ride in.

They seem to stop about half way down.

I have ridden in them for over a year and they had been fitting fine until recently, I really liked how they felt - kept my legs nice and still.

Ariat notoriously have VERY GOOD customer service and so if I were you I would contact them and explain the problem, and see what the response is.

I would contact ariat directly and ask advice. They do give a year guarantee on their footwear, are you much over a year??? When the zip is all the way up, where does it stop?? :)

When done up, the zip stops right at the top.

I got them for Christmas 2011, so perhaps too long ago?

I sometimes have the same problem with my ariat close contact chaps- but that's because they're getting on a bit and I use them a lot!!
To solve the problem and avoid spending out on a new pair as they're perfect in every other way- I tied a small piece of black plaiting thread in a loop onto the zip, and I put the leather but with the popper through the loop and hey presto! Problem sorted. You can't see anything as they're black and I use them for BE.

I agree with the others though- give ariat a ring but if that doesn't get you anywhere then try the above!

I want sunzipping boots and I want them now.

I thought exactly the same! Sounds cool and futureistic.

My mountain horse long boots started this a while ago (cos my legs are a bit fatter). I just sewed tiny little hook loops to them (the tiny little metal fasteners like you have one your bra). Dead easy to do and solved problem.
