I currently ride in Ariat short boots and Tredstep leather chaps, both of which i love. however my boots are coming towards needing replaced and i was thinking of getting a pair of Ariat long boots instead. Has anyone any reccomendations as to which sort, insulated or not etc etc.

Thanks in advance!

I'm afraid I cannot do long boots. I have spent a fortune over the years, trying, and getting the best there is of long leather boots (MH supremes were lovely and soft) but they all just rub my heels. So have decided to go for Tredstep Gioette (sp) boots and pro-gaiters. They are lovely, and so comfy, I love wearing them, and also unlike long boots, I manage to keeo my feet and legs a lot more secure in the saddle!!

The insulated ones are fantastic - the most comfortable boots I have ever worn and I have never had cold feet in them. However, they can get very warm in summer. No problem if you only use them for riding once or twice a day but might be a problem if you stay in them all day.

Highly recommend them...
