Ariat Bromont boots - insulated v non-insulated

Am looking to purhase the Ariat Bromonts and just wondered...
A) what people think of them?
B) suitable for competition (unaffilliated dsg/sj/hunter trials etc?)
C) I know the insulated ones would be fab in the winter but would they roast my feet in the summer? I know we have more cold weather than hot so makes sensse to buy insulated but Ariat winter boots are usually very warm so am wondering whether to buy insulated or non insulated (with extra socks in winter) - can;lt budget for two pairs!

I have the insulated and i just havent worn them all summer because my feet cook in them but for a large majority of the british year they are perfect.

I have looked at the non insulated but they didnt look as comft so i decided to wait untill it cools down before before wearing them again.

I wear mine for all riding inc dressge but dont wear them about the yard.
 
I got the insulated ones cos they were sooooooo comfy. I use them for dressage and showing.

I have the insulated ones for the winter, I wear them everyday and for hunting and any winter competitions. They are lovely boots, so comfy and snug! Even millions of socks wouldnt keep your feet at that perfect temperature!!
I have ariat boot and gaiters for summer wear, the insulated bromonts turn my feet into a sweaty mush!
 
I have just bought the non insulated Bromonts and am really pleased with them. I cant see how I could possibly wear the insulated ones through the summer!!

Certainly good enough for competition and I really like the fact that they are waterproof given the vagueries of the British weather!

I love my short Ariats and gaiters and have been umming and ahhing about getting new long boots but Im not disappointed.
 
Thats odd. I have pretty standard length legs and bought the med Bromonts which are a tad tight behind the knee at the moment. Ive popped my old Konig heel wedges in for now.

You must be one of those lanky beggars!
 
Yup, thats me! I searched but couldnt find any different lengths for the bromonts, so I just have the standard length. They don't look too bad, I'd just prefer them to come up a bit higher!
Although I would have to have boots made to measure to get them to come up high enough! ST Ariat gaiters are the only things I've found that come close enough!
