I got bought a pair of Ariats Bromonts as a present. They are big though but I thought WTH they are so gorgeous I will get them altered. around the calf to fit better.

I went to my local shoe specialist and they do everything from custom making riding boots to alterations.

Anyway I was quoted £215 to alter the calves and then I would have to sign a disclaimer if something went wrong as the man (who was lovely) was not too comfortable about doing it. Well the boots cost £200 so I thought maybe not. So will have to sell them :(

Next I asked about the cost of custom making mine and was quoted £2500 starting price and the process would take about 10 months (I live in London and have mastered the art of looking absolutely bored when given crazy prices :p)

I dont know what to do now

I have tried Brogini boots, Ariat Bromonts (beautiful boots), Regent boots (narrow size is too big)

The kids sizes would fit in the calf but because I am long legged come up ridiculously short

I am currently just using a pair of Regent Euro boots but we cant do this for much longer really as they are bulky and my legs are swimming around in them. I really want to improve my leg aids

I tried on the Ariat classic iii chaps in xxs and they were slightly just slightly bulky and the quantum pro boots were lovely but the combination would cost £290. Surely there must be boots somewhere out there that would be a perfect fit for that price ?

I wonder if Ariat would do a made to measure pair for you? Their customer service is 2nd to none so they just might be able to help

Really? I dont want to get my hopes up though. It might be best for me to contact them and say I got these as a present but they are huge and see what happens from there

I feel your pain,

for me the bromonts were too big, brogini too big de niro were,

brogini do made to measure for £400 and take 6 weeks to come

if you ring them they will tell you what to do about measurements or nearest place to get measured.

I literally had given up until i found some mountain horse supreme high rider

they made them in long narrow which is 51cm height and 32cm width.

I rang MH who said due to no one wanting that narrow and tall they have stopped doing them for the UK

I was just lucky that a shop had a pair that had been sat around for ages,

they do narrow in other heights too i think that they still stock in the uk so im sure you could find some

I dont think Ariat do made to measure, most of their boots come in several sizes already - Mum asked a little while ago.

Cant you take them back to the shop?!
What Size is your leg?? - Might help any budding shoppers on here..

Its a shame as the Bromonts are beautiful.

I am a 31 cm calf

No they were bought for me when I was away for a month. I got back and my grandpa had recycled the box, he kept the receipt though but it was way past the returns date

Are the mountain horse high rider true to size? I am normally a 4 but found the Ariat Bromont 4 large in the foot

I am going to take one last stab at the mountain horse and then after that I will probably just die quietly inside

yes they are true to size footwise,

if you go on the website it has the size guide and the different combinations,

the smaller the footsize the narrower they are,

i went down a size and a half in ariat, yes they are quite big!

what height do you need?

I would say a 31 width max with about a 41 height. Do they drop

much?

I am a bit worried that all their sizes are in ranges though

Wondering if I should chance the size 36 (normally a 37) in the short x narrow (30-33 width) with height of 41 cm

Can you tell I am getting desperate?

Im actually a 40 and went for 39!

so i think you should be fine,

well i was worried too as mine say 32-35 calf so i though they would be a little wide but they very extremely tight i wouldnt like to see anyone with a 33/34/35 calf get in them i think they would burst so they should be fine

mine came with heel risers that you can use until they drop, and yes they are super supple so should drop fairly quickly, i have only worn mine 3 times so far but are dropping already
