Looking for a warm pair of boots to wear in the winter and have ear marked these two. I have wide calves (15-16inches) but skinny ankles. I also need alot of support for my feet and ankles as they are abit arthritic due to having glandular fever a few years ago.

So does anyone have experience of either of these boots and how they fit? How wide do the grasmeres and the conistons go?

I have the conistons - I love love love love them!!!

Very comfortable and keep my feet toasty, I will quite happily wear them all day at a country show & I always ride in them.

I too have skinny ankles and a bit erm.. larger calves & they're great. They have one lace for the foot/bottom of ankle (like field boots) & another one that goes up the leg

would definitely recommend them

I have the conistons and they are lovely, incredibly warm and have been comfy from the first wear. Good for both riding and yard work. My only complaint is that the zips seem a bit flimsy for a sturdy boot - more the sort you would get on a competition boot - so if you have them quite tightly laced, the zips don't pull up so easily. But even so I think they are easier than the grasmeres, which don't have a zip at all.

I've got the Conistons too, very warm and the lacing to the foot means you can have them looser or tighter for your ankle. My only concer as angela-l-b says is the flimsy zip.

Defo Coniston - I will be buying a pair any day now. My Dubarry's have now given up the ghost and after a wonderful partnership of 4 years, day in, day out, we must now say our goodbyes - sighs - so sad

Love Ariat but prefer the look of the Coniston to the Grassmere, found them on ebay for £150 but not small enough for me, cheapest I've found them is £209 with free delivery.

I have tho Conistons and they are A-MA-ZING !

Try the Estate Supplies website - I think they are still £165 if they are not listed then give them a call and they will post them out I'm sure. Very friendly bunch at my local tack shop.

Why the silly increase in price

I have found them on express equine for £185 though... not sure how much posstage and packaging is. Going to go try them on on Sat at TDS saddlers
