Thanks to all the lovely advice on here I popped along to my tack shop today to try some on.

I like them very much (and the boots as well) but don't have them yet as they had to order some in for me.

It appears that I need a 'short' sizing in the gaiters

I am 5'7! Has never happened to me before. (generally I am considered to have quite long legs)

What on earth do 'short' people have to get?????

People with short legs can't find anything - can you guess what i have been doing all morning??

Yep - long boot shopping, tried everything on in the shop even all the gaiters

Glad you found some, even if you did have to order them

I have long legs too - Mine are size short, medium width I think....considering my long boots are tall and narrow I found it very odd BUT they are sooooooooooooooooo comfy!!!!

Good choice.

I tried on some ariat gaiters and they came up really high on the back of my leg, and they were the short ones

I think they need to revise their sizing

I'm 5'9" and I wear the Ariat tall length gaiters in a medium calf width (mine are Crowne Pros). I've got long legs and only Ariats do the proper tall sizes that come up right to the back of the knee like they are supposed too.

My calves are 15 1/2" and althoughv I take the full calf in normal Ariat long boots (I have the Heritage field boots- non zip style), the gaiters are supposed to fit sung and the medium width was a good fit on me.

The gaiters will drop like normal long boots so you don't want to get them too short as it will look a bit funny.

If you are 5'7", I'd go with the medium length, not the short as you have to take into account droppage.

Agree with the above, when new they should be pushing the back of your knee, I'm 5'6" and wear XS but standard length Crowne Pros?

Maybe the heights vary slightly with the widths though.
