Ariat Glacier Boots

Does anyone know the best way / product to use to keep my brand new boots in good condition, apart from using Ariat's own brand cleaning products.
I've never owned leather boots before and I'm unsure which products I can use. The tack shop I purchased them from said to use ordinary shoe polish ie kiwi etc. Someone else said Hydrophane is best to use to keep them water proof.
What is the best product / cleaning routine to use. I'm confused, and refusing to wear them until I know how to look after them properly!!

hi ya i stick with using ariat products and mine are still going 4 years later. I wash with warm water and sponge leave to drive then treat with that liquid leather stuff they do. Easy.

I clean my mine with my tack and use the 'Grand Prix Gloss' on mine. Keeps them nice and I haven't had any trouble with them not being waterproof, yet! Had them two years now.
