Hi, I'm thinking of selling my [only once worn] Dubarry's and investing in a pair of Ariat Grasmere boots but I'd love to know what you think of them before I splash the cash.

With regards to sizing, I've heard they are generously sized, has anyone found they wear smaller than normal sizes?

Also I have quite short legs and am selling the Dubarry's because they catch behind my knee and would like to know if this has been a problem with the Ariat's?

Thanks for any advice

The Ariat Grasmere sizes are generous, normally I wear 3 1/2 - 4, but find size 3 in them is fine. I am also small and find the length of them just right.
They are very comfy to wear and well insulated , the laces up the side are a bit fiddly but are very useful if like me your legs are narrow as well! So you can get them to fit perfectly!

I got mine last year very reduced from Derby House!

I love my Grasmere's - pure heaven. When I bought them I tried on Duberry's as thats what I was going to buy, but found they were'nt comfortable.

I normally take a size 5 and my ariats are a size 4. I'm also a short person - well short legs

and I find them fine.

Mine are quite a bit longer than my Dubarrys, I am 8 in Dubarry, 7.5 in ariat but that is quite a snug fit - they don't do an 8 though!

I have the Ariat Glaciers which are almost identical (they are all nubuck whereas the Grasmeres are nubuck and suede) and I absolutely love them.

They are so comfy, keep my feet warm and you can ride in them as well.

It's worth shopping around for prices though as they can vary enormously. I got mine for £159 including postage from TDS Saddlery and the RRP is around £230 so I saved £70.

They are often cheapish on e-bay.

Another Grasmere fan - I haven't had cold feet once this winter!! I wore my wellies the other day with two pairs of thin socks, one thick pair of long walking socks and fleece welly liners and I couldn't feel my toes after about 15 mins they were so cold. In my Ariats I have one thin pair of socks and one thicker pair and my feet are always toasty warm :-)

Only thing I would say is that I'm a size 5 and I struggle to get my feet past the ankle bit (if that makes sense) if I'm wearing thick socks. Once my feet are in they fit perfectly :-)

Thanks for all the info, I'm sold on these boots now so I just have to raise the money to buy them! Sticking the Dubarry's on ebay this weekend so hopefully they make enough for me to get some Ariat's. I will deffo try shopping around, thanks for the suggestions such as TDS Saddlery.
