My loved Dublin Rivers boots are finally giving up after a year of abuse! I tried a pair of Grasmere an from a friend and love them. Any views on these? Are they worth the £200+?? Seen some on ebay cheaper tho.

I've had mountain horse high riders before (on ebay at the mo) and not my favourites at all. Do want competition style boots as I have these already. Just comfy but smart boots that will stand up to mucking out too as I am lazy and forget to change! Would Love Dubarry's but too many £££'s.

I do have slightly wide calves so some boots are too tight - love the look of the Tuffa boots but can't get them on.

Any ideas welcome!

I have the Grasmere boots and had them for a year. I wear them all the time and too are lazy and muck out in them and ride in them. They are holding up brill and I would def spent the same again on another pair when these are passed there best.
Did I say I love my grasmere boots :D

Get some Sherwood boots. I've got the ones that look like the dubarry's with the buckle on the side. They were about £100 and are 100% waterproof and are SO comfy :) I've got widish calves, and the normal ones fit beautifully :)

Grasmeres are well worth the money. When mine die I'll replace them with the same thing immediately. They're the only boots I've ever found for winter that keep my toes toasty, I don't even need to wear thermal socks with them.
Some people say they're a bit too baggy down the leg and around the ankle to ride in though, but I ride in mine all the time.

I've had my Grasmere's for two years, live in them for everything and they have loads more left in them, no real signs of wear other than dirt and I really don't look after them well. Definitely worth the extra money and so warm and comfy too.

I think it will be the Grasmere's then.
Only tried them on and they were dreamy !

Oh and Kerrili - the gloves from Lucinda are now up to £31 on ebay! Wow!!

KatB - i've got some Rydale Dubarry lookalikey's for BE officiating etc so the Sherwoods might be similar anyway. These will be for doing the horses everyday riding etc. Even better if I can drive trailer in them to lessons too.
