Finally saved up for a new pair..... But what has happened to fit? They seem to have a very low instep and the lining really rucks down in the heel if you pull them on without the long horn. Not happy chappy

I noticed this too. Bought my second pair a few months back and although they are still lovely, the new improved version isn't half as good as the orginal design. The laces are stretchy and have toggles to keep them done up, which wasn't necessary and takes ages to undo. There also seems to be less material in the leg as I have to pull the tops together to get the velcro to stick.
Why do manufacturers do this ? When they have a winning product, they seem to have a desire to fiddle and 'improve', which generally means the product is less functional to the people who actually use it.

Hi i realise this is an old post but it's very interesting as the points made here about the fit are exactly what i have found in the last few days since i bought my first ever pair. The instep is low, the heel lining seems to get caught and the tab at the top doesnt seem long enough to velcro across. My problems are made worse by the fact that there was no shoe horn thingy with mine. Once they are on they are really comfortable, but it takes ten minutes to get to this point!
