My lovely boyfriend bought me a lovely pair of windermeres for my birthday yesterday but they are not quite wide enough around the calf. They dont come any wider so am thinking of paying the extra for the grassmere's as they are more adjustable. They are £100 more expensive though and although I cant really afford to pay the extra I might have too! Are the Grassmeres worth the extra money???

I've got a pair of Windermeres and I truely love them! Best yard boots I've had so far.
I've not got a pair of Grassmeres but my sister has and she hates them, finds them big and bulky, and the side pull strings really annoying! And I can't really understand why they cost as much as they do either...

My daughter has a pair of Grasmeres, and loves them. Her feet have never been cold, they are waterproof, and she can ride in them. When my lottery numbers come up, they are first on my list, especially as I also have wide calves. I have seen ladies with seriously wide lower legs, who have been unable to wear anything else, be quite happy and very pleased to get into Grasmeres, with room to spare!

I have 17" calves and my Grasmeres fit perfectly and would easily fit wider legs, even though they they are regular and not wide. I can wear them with boot cut jeans tucked in which I can't with wellies. Ingatestone sell them for £182, better than the RRP of £225, but Ariat won't let them advertise them at that price on the website so best to phone first if you can't go to the shop.

A friend bought Windemeres at Burghley and the linings are coming out already!

Yes this was my other comcern about the Windermeres. When puting the left boot on my heel catches on the lining at the top of the supported heel section and I cant then put my foot in fully. If this keeps happening then the lining will be damaged in no time.

Maybe I will upgrade to the Grassmeres!

Thanks for everyones posts!
