After x amount of years my ariat conistons have finally died and started leaking. I have loved them as they have kept my feet warm and dry winter after winter after winter. However, although I am sad to see them go I am very excited at the thought of an early Christmas present for myself whereby I can buy some new Ariats! I love the look of the dark brown windermeres but a bit confused as to why they are so much cheaper than their other similar styled boots... Does anyone have any experience with them? Do they keep your feet toasty warm in the winter? Etc?

Thanks :).

Yes they are fab...kept my feet very warm. They only lasted a year though, then split at the toe both boots. I did wear them everyday and muck out in them so quite heavy use.

Useless boots, brilliant while they last but they don't last very long and not worth the money. I had 4 replacement pairs in a year before I gave up with them! I have a pair of bromonts that are 5 years old and still going strong don't know why they windermeres don't last.

I'm cautious now about buying any of the Ariats or is it just the windermeres people have had problems with?

Never had the Windermeres, but otherwise have a full-on lot of Ariats & love them to bits :)
Bromonts - 5 yd old & still going strong, the Cobalt jodh boots & gaiters (hammered from early spring to late autumn on a daily basis).
Grassmeres for winter yard, field (poo-picking) and anywhere that involves standing around in the cold :)
The Tellurides lace ups are my 'go anywhere' boots & I live in these for work (under trousers etc in office).
Not had any problems with any of them at all :)

I have a pair of windermeres. One boot has split over the bend at the toe and I wish I had treated them better with some sort of wax. They are a bit short for riding in and catch on the saddle flap but so comfortable and still going. Bromonts are fab and mine are 6 yrs old but worn selectively and better looked after.

Eta I wrecked the heel of the Wdmrs by not using the boot puteron thingy.

I will have a look at their other boots. I need insulated ones ideally as I have poor circulation, looking at the glaciers now. Any other recommendations on insulated waterproof boots?

I have the ariat grasmeres, and they are completely trashed after 2 years. They have about 4 holes in each boot where the leather has cracked and all the stitching has come undone from the back. For £250 I would have liked them to last longer, but they are the most comfy boots I have ever had. Am umming and ahhing over how to replace them.

I had a pair, totally cracked and fell apart after a year. They were lovely boots but I expected them to last much longer. I'm also on the hunt for a replacement, not sure I want to spend that money on another pair...

I am an Ariat snob and have Bromonts, Conistons and Grasmeres. I got some Windermeres expecting them to be as good but they were incredibly disappointing and only just lasted a year. When you think that they Grasmeres are 8 years old now one year isn't very impressive! For yard boots I bought some Mark Todd (my daughter calls them 'fake Dubarrys') and they have been great.

Don't know what it is with the Windermeres but I wouldn't have another pair.
