Is it just me or are Ariat boots not what they used to be? I had a pair of Bromonts for 5 years & only bought a new pair cause they were gone too big for me & were sagging really badly but I actually sold them there were in such good condition.

Bought another pair & they have just fallen apart.. I actually changed them twice when I first got them cause of poor stitching & a zip which should have been a give away but I only have them 2 years & they are nearly at the point of not being wearable, I've had the zips done in them twice & stitching re-enforced & they look wrecked :(

I have a pair of Tredsteps aswell but not mad about the fit, but I used to just keep them for shows. I think I have a short calf & I dont find them very comfortable!

I'd love a new pair of long riding boots but am weary now of what to buy next!

I don't think anything is as good as it used to be. I am sick to death of having Amigo rug front clips replaced. Lead rope and head collar clips and buckles which break. Head collars I purchased 10 years ago are going strong, recent purchases broken.

It is also very dangerous - we have young horses and two stallions, buckles and clips must be fit for purpose.

Someone else said this to me the other day there recent pair have not lasted as long either, I have tried them on in the shop but I have always ended up buying the mountain horse high riders the ariats always feel and look flimsy in comparison, I am into my 5th year with the mountain horse boots only had each zip done once in that time and they look perfect and are so comfy.

@Rollin - I'd have to agree... 'Made in China' has alot to answer for :(

@Pinkvboots - I will definitely try the Mountain Horse boots so :) Thank you!

Completely agree! My beloved Glaciers died after 8 winter seasons of abuse. New pair lasted a year and both boots started leaking, i was furious as they're not cheap! Ariat begrudgingly replaced them but after 1 winter I can already see this pair failing

My Mountain Horse Supreme High Riders fell apart within 18months :( I was devastated as they fit so well... Cant say I was v impressed with Mountain horses customer service either...

Replaced them with Ariats and so far they are holding up but after reading your experiences I'll not be holding my breath... So annoying as they arent cheap and you just expect for the price you pay that they will last a decent amount of time!

I've got some long Ariats for lessons and comes and they are super, very thin leather so wouldn't last if I rode in them everyday but do the job I bough them for well.

Just bought some short Ariats as yard boots and to wear with gaiters at home, not been let down by these either.

I have heard stories about Ariat increasing through the grapevine but their customer care is so good, it doesn't concern me so much as it would with other brands.
