Arko was back competing last weekend at Maubeuge in France. Did two classes 4 faults in the first to finish one outside the placings and 3 time penalties in the second putting him in top half of quality field.

seems the brits had a reasonably good show. Only glanced through but some good placings including wins for likes of Robert Smith, Nick on Russell and Tim Stockdale who was best of brits in Grand Prix coming 8th on Animation.

Nice to see Arko back and apparently he of to a few Super League shows now! La Baule next which starts Thursday.
 
I really hope that they don't burn him out/lose his confidence this time.

He is a super jumper and will be great for teams one day. Glad to see Nick has a deserving partner.
 
personally I never think he was over jumped last time although a lot would disagree. And IMHO you have to respect the Hales for the time they have allowed him to have to recover, and also the belief there was something more than simply going sour.

He is being kept in the background for now by the looks at what he was/is entered for to hopefully bring him back to his best.
 
Yep, you can't deny that they did allow him the time to freshen up. He was given a break from Hickstead last year wasn't it?

Personally, I thought that perhaps they did overdo it. He was all over the world competing and at a relatively young age. Now, I am not one to cotton wool a horse but I am very glad he had the time to have rest.
 
yep he last competed Hickstead last year which was end July so he has had 10 months off.

Yes he did a fair bit when younger but also had quieter time when Nick broke his neck. But I suppose its hard with a horse of his calibre which is being aimed at teams etc to give breaks but also keep selectors happy. I know the last few seasons he has had a month 'stud break' but that only gives so much of a break.
 
Ooooh, I LOVE watching that horse jump. YAY!!
