I am a British breeder and have two lovely colts by Arko. They are now four years old and with prof riders learning thier trade / and looking to present for stallion grading in 2009
I have always found Lisa to be very supportive & helpfull and I feel sure that despite the fact that Archie will be going to Jos in Germany British breeders with good mares will still be welcome to use him
LOL .... Just to bore you
- below is a photo of one of my Arko boys attending his first party (seven weeks after backing)
Does it really make any difference if he is with Jos Lansink? He'll only ever be available by AI so does it matter?
Amelia, you stallion looks lovely, all the Arko horses I've seen have been the spitting image of him, he really stamps them. What sort of mare is he out of? Good luck with your grading.
Well lets hope he has a better sales team over there than he did in Britain. When I was looking for stallions for my mares, Arko's representatives were the only ones not to reply to my enquiry. Very unprofessional.
(And before anyone asks my mares breeding and competition records are impeccable
Jos does'nt do breeding, his stallions retire back to their breeding verband ! Smells well fishy to me, cos Arko had hundreds of mares booked to him in Germany over two years ago, and he did 'nt go. Why?
yes he does go to jos sas there is more use for him over there as europe is the route to many places.amymay it makes no difference atall where he stands, in ways of british breeding.. obviously semen can be fresh, chilled or frozen.. just there are obviously more clientel in europe from the world class riders and farmers..DAHH his sales team as you put it probably didunt have enough also to the fact that it is few mares used, as high profile mares vetted etc. amelia your stallion is stunning just like archie.. and lastly j1234, i think you will find nothink FISHY as you put it as not sure if you know but yos is having a fantastic new purpous yard built with a block especially 4 his top class stallions, and as mentioned on previous posts lisa( my boss) has inspected every possible yard and avenue for both her stallions both arko and russel.......................
calm down vodkaredbull, this is the purpose of forums to have discussions
and DAHH is a very good breeder with very good mares i hear so it it is not a good thing if she didnt get a response but it might just be the letter/email/message got lost before the people in charge saw it.
anyway as you say with competition horses it doesnt really matter where they go as AI is predominately used these days and there will be much more opportunity for the horse in europe because, apart from anything, jos and his team probably have better contacts than anyone and as soon as it becomes common knowledge he is going into the stallion (for breeding) business punters will be queing up for him.
and amelia your horse looks lovely and personally, regardless of how good you think he is, i think Arko is a lovely looking horse so look forward to seeing his babies in future.
i am perfectly calm, but alot of peeps on arko forums have been slating him etc, and other than poissibly most of you are just chatting, but when u know and work with the horses its slightly offputting
I certainly was not slating the horse. In fact I would very much like to have used him. However I will happily criticize the representatives who didn't bother to responde to my enquiry. They obviously missed the lesson on customer service.
lol they are slightly slow up there, he will be able to do fresh chilled and frozen most places england and europe, cant wait to have him back home 4 a bit b4 he starts his new carear x
hi yea sorry all i can say at present is its quite possibly ireland but nothink definate, we had him home straight after olympics , h is at stud at the momeant x
