Armas gone dark?

I never saw the 'dumbest' thread that was pulled but from his comments on his public profile on FB (does he realise everyone can read that?) it sounds like a really mean spirited thread....talk about bullying!

If Armas is reading this I think much future strife will be avoided on all sides if he clearly labels his posts. He should either ask for CC in which he shouldn't be offensive to people who say things he does not want to hear or he should just post on how pretty his horse in, perhaps explicitly saying no CC, and then everyone who is so inclined can admire how clean and long his horse's mane is.

This. Also, IMHO he needs to grow up and stop using a public site (FB) as his own personal bully pulpit.

His behaviour has sadly confirmed some suspicions I had about what sort of person he is and I've no time for people like that.

I didn't see the offending thread - but he is a nice chap just trying to do best by his horse.
Honestly guys...maybe he just had a prickly day and took comments too personally. We are all guilty of that at times.
I have to say the Spanish rider working with Armas is amazing in my eyes. His seat is just wonderful and OMG the hands! You should all take a look at the difference in Armas since this God has been working with him.
I think I may have a crush....:o
I would kill to be able to ride like that...

Anyway...I am just off to douse myself in cold water and slap myself around the face a few times. :D

Another one who think's it's clever to go off and slag off HHO on FB! We have had a few of those, haven't we? Some 'professionals' and 'MD's' of companies too...

I'm not impressed, toys and pram come to mind...

I agree that people have 'off' days and can be snappy if someone hits a nerve, but from the beginning he just seemed to want people to oooh and ahhhh him.

Males seem to get away with more on this site because they are rare amongst the lathering ladies! What ever happened to Rileyboy? lol

If you look at the other vids the horse is very weak behind and stiff on a good day. This intensive training could exacerbate whatever is causing that. I know its been mentioned (and ignored) several times.

The bottom line is, disagreeing about what folk say about you horse is fine, demeaning them because you don't like what they say, is not on.

What is a happy clappy one horse owner anyway?

AH, I agree with pretty much everything you've written above . . . particularly about the trainer . . . but, for me, it wasn't so much about the offending thread (although that was pretty unedifying), it's Armas' petulant behaviour on FaceAche that has put my back up. Given my recent history with someone on my yard, I just have no time for it . . . there's a fine line between disagreeing with someone and just being rude and nasty - IMHO he crossed that line, and didn't even have the grace to do it to the person in question's face.

Oooh - what did I miss? Did he single someone out then?

*Toodles off to continue cold water sessions...swoon.....*:D

I am definitely a happy clappy. One horse at livery, fed a 'barefoot diet', is unshod, pleasure horse, cooed over plenty, referred to as 'my baby' need I go on?

If I were a true happy clappy I would dry my own rosehips (instead of buying them in), I would weave my own haynets from bailer twine (I know someone who does this) and I would allow my horse to browse herbs in order to select what she needs :)

I must try harder.

I read it as meaning that someone who is just a "one horse" owner has zero perspective and inexperience and therefore isn't qualified to comment on the video. I've kept my horse at yards where the YO took the same view. Then it's really not funny.

I actually liked what the trainer was doing with Armas. I agree that the horse is weak behind, but he doesn't look lame to me. If someone could get him going correctly and using his back and hind end, he might look better. While he is a beautiful horse, I would suggest that he's a bit long in the back and weak in the croup and loins -- "loose coupled" might be the conformation geek's term for that -- especially for the breed, so really needs the work in engaging his hindquarters (and I speak from experience, as I own a horse who has similar conformation issues in the hind end -- but with correct work, can put herself together and move really nicely).

The comments that got him going where pretty silly IMO but posting that thread was even sillier .
Ignore would have been the way to go but men and egos what can you do.
I do enjoy people videos lots though.

He isn't the only one that comes across badly on his facebook page - I'm really not very easily offended at all but thought the comment about 'happy clappy one horse owners' from the OP of this thread (i believe) was really quite mean.

I'm not taking sides either way (really can't be bothered) but wasn't he a one horse owner before the dinky pony bought last year?

Sod giving the horses rosehips... they're far too good to share :D

And no, not baler twine nets! Found hundreds of these and leadropes going through OHs families horse bits and having a clearout... They are horrible, managed to tear up my hands with one which had been used to keep a gate shut and make the most horrendous creaky noise when you handle them.

I've been guilty of the herb bit though, whenever cutting nettles/sticky weed etc they get a selection lobbed in. Apparently chocolate mint (the herb not chocolate) is lovely, though the dogs disagreed :D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Armas fit the definition of Happy Clappy One Horse owner? :p

I'm sure I've seen videos of him running around with his horse, and last time I looked, it was just the one horse (although a companion had been mooted).

Just checking (as another barefoot bitless long maned HCOHO :D)

And don't go slagging off 13.2 ponies either, comments like that make me mad. Plenty of really super 13.2's out there with decent conformation that move properly that I'd take over that sort of horse any day.

The thing is, you post a video, you're opening yourself to alsorts of critics, good and bad, and should be prepared for those who might not see things the same you do.
Pinch of salt comes to mind, best just to ignore the ones that get under your skin and irritate..

Armas had a run in with HHOers when he bought Armas Banquero aaaages ago and he got a ban then. Not defending that awful post of his by the way, I was shocked at that... Bt he has done it before. Thought he had learned a lesson but no. He repeats it! He likes the attention but needs to gloss over stuff he doesn't like... Oh well.

What was the original story? People told him not to buy such a hot first horse?

You're not far off billie... similar vein to what's happened recently... People were unkind about the horse and the rider. But honest, you know, not purposely mean or anything but the usual bunfight ensued between peeps etc etc.

Anyway, that's in the past and I was glad he came back to show us the horse jumping and now being schooled properly. He got angry and vented and that was that. He is French after all and they pretty much say what they think. I'm sure he'll be back, once his wounds heal :)

He is British. ;)
