Armbands in showing

I have always competed in novice/amateur classes showing so never had to wear an armband but I've entered the retrained racehorse class at the Great Yorkshire Show and wanted to check what armbandni should be wearing? People wearing all sorts last year!!! Thanks!!!

Armbands are a minefield! I have no idea who wears what these days but there seems to be a lack of colours left without a meaning lol!

colour depends on what show states in rules but they can be a bit complex last year at new forest show had to wear three different ones but was worth it as won two out of three of the categories

As far as I recall there is a prize for the best veteran and for best placed 'local' combination. Does it not specify on schedule? (Think the local one may be white but not really sure).

Just checked - white armband for Yorkshire based combinations and red for veterans

I have a little box in my showing kit with all the colour ribbons that have ever been listed in the schedule of shows I have entered. Invariably it's called upon by my friends!! I just cut a small section and attach whichever ones are needed onto a safety pin and attach to jacket sleeve.
