Just seen this. What a horrible story, thoughts are with the owners.

Arrest after three horses repeatedly stabbed near Tamworth

Two of the horses needed treatment from a vet and all three are expected to recover, police say.

At least there has been an arrest. It would have been a lot scarier for owners if there hadn't been.

I just hope there is a full psychological assessment and the appropriate follow up otherwise I fear this behaviour could escalate and the next horse this person is near could suffer more.

Went through this years ago in the New forest, the mare I shared was stabbed in the chest. Many others were mutilated. At one point it was thought to be a farrier and a vet, another time a black magic cult. I don't remember any specific arrests made. It seems to reoccur from time to time, more common on the continent i believe. Very glad they have a culprit this time.

This was the case in an incident I heard about many years ago where an ex shot the ex partner's horses.

I know what I would do with the knife if he came near my horses, and they would not be able to retrieve the knife back out of the orifice.
