ARRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!! My Hay

Just rang the farmer who's doing my hay for me. It's been cut and is drying very nicely and looks about ready. He said "Did you see the big fire and the two fire engines up the back end of the village?"

Well, actually I did because it's quite near me and I just sort of happened to be having a large bonfire which was getting a bit exciting and thought one of the neighbours had called them out for my fire! Nothing like a guilty conscience is there - I'm banned from bonfires by my husband but I thought he wouldn't notice.

Anyway the big fire, needing the two fire engines, was the farmer's baler

Oh no, hope someone else is helping him and you get it done before the rain.

Oh Bugger!!! Do you know any other farmers with balers?

The contractors we used to use were never very pleased to come out to us after two disasters, first their wrapping machine went on fire needing the local fire brigade, then their tractor rolled off down the hill and ended upside down in the hedge..
We quietly changed to another and never told them why...

I reckon ag merchants do a roaring trade this time of year with ones that go on fire, it must be a common fault...

Our baler broke down but luckily it was repaired the same day. (Just as well as we have 2 non-repairable ones in the shed already!)
