hi ya all feel free to ignore this. I have just had a cr@p day and need to let off some steam about al lthe bad things!

1. Today, I went out to set up some jumps (just a cross pole and a 2ft6 ish upright to practise what I did in my lesson) when my YO came over and told me not to move the jumps as they were for all of the lessons this week! But I'm sure she wouldn't have said that to some of the other liveries. I was v. annoyed as I couldn't jump the ones which were up because it was a very difficult line and I didn't want to (seeming as my confidence is only just returning) so I didn't jump just did flatwork.

2. Then, when I was in the school a lesson was going on with one the instructors and a lady who had brought her own horse. anyway, she was cantering around the edge of the school so I turned a circle to avoid her and she nearly crashed into me. then the instructor said "the horse obv hadnt seen Pug and obv thought he was a cow!" I was so mad I thought I was gonna flip! Then when I came back from walking puggy up the lane to cool off the lesson was just finishing and the lady went "omg i've got to go by Pug again" and the instructor said: "what the cow?" and they both laughed I just ignored it but it has really offended me and I don't know if they were calling Pug the cow - or me!

3, there are a couple of new 13 year olds on livery at the yard and one rode their poor pony THREE times today! the poor pony! I moaned when there were no other teens on the yard but now there is, I wish there wasn't!

okies, rant over. WELL DONE IF YOU GOT THIS FAR! SOOO What do you think? do you think I am complaining about nothing and being over sensitive? or would you be annoyed to?

sorry for the HUGE post I just needed to let it all out. xxx

I would definatly complain if I was you and it happens again, at the end of the day you pay the same as everyone else and you shouldn't have to put up with bitchy comments that weren't needed.

I smile when people call mine a cow or gypsy coz a the end of the day these days a coloured horse is worth more than a solid horse of the same size/ability.

aww. coloured horses are beautiful, they always look so stunning. Ignore horrible people, and complain if it happens again - hugs -

thank you - I suppose it could be jealousy as he is a really unique colour and this instructor cant afford her own horse and wanted me to have lessons with her but i chose another instructor and he has come on so much. so she probs holds a grudge.

People with these poor plain coloured horses are very jealous.

Just do as I do, go out and beat them on a "cow" preferably at dressage.

Nothing more satisfying than a pikey pony with a red rosette and a WB with a snobby baggage with the blue....

And yes I have had TBs and WBs for years and do love them - no offence to those who have them, but some owners do have a very down attitude on the pikey pony which are often better schooled/behaved than their expensive offering from Holland.

It doesn't matter if she WAS joking. If she was talking to you about your horse and it upset you, then you should take her to one side and say that you are quite sensitive about people making remarks about your horse and you were quite hurt about the comment, particularly as the other person now feels they are able to call your horse a "cow". She probably didn't realise that she was hurting your feelings. It is only a joke if everyone thinks it is funny, and you obviously don't.

One of my friends used to call my coloured a 'cobby thing'. Which isn't the same thing..but still annoyed me as it was a 'coloureds' are cobs and have no ability.
Same pony pre-noviced very succesfully and went to england for THREE finals(with me!).
She was only joking really though, and TBH, I have never had said coloured pony=cow in a nasty way to me, always in a joking manner.
PErsonally I'd ignore her.

Thatws a bit harsh, and if she was joking she could have at leasst said that she was!! He doesnt look very big built from your pics so he is definately not a cow!
Maybe they are jealous that you can do White AND shiny instead of one or the other !

I have a solid couloured horse, and he did actually think he WAS a cow

I've got a Cow and she is the best in the whole wide world. A few years ago, no-body wanted one, now everyone wants one. Hold your head up high and just ignore them. Jealousy pure and simple.

not a thing! Nothing against cobs, just the prejudice that all coloureds are cobs!( hope this is coming out right?)
There are fine coloureds, cobby coloureds, finy bays and cobby bays. Just hate everyone who assumes a coloured horse is a cob!
Have never actually had the pleasure of riding a 'proper' cob.

Wish I knew what my coloured was. She is quite heavy and is referred to as a cobby type, but someone has suggested she has a bit of WB in her. I don't really care, love her to bits as she is.
