Arterial and suspensory Windgall....

So I had the vet out today who has advised that my mare has the above (but is not really very lame).

It was suggested that it is from an old injury, and a guess was hazarded towards damage to the tiny ligament (can't remember the name but beings with an 'm') that connects the suspensory to the deep digital flexor tendon (not vital have but if damaged still hurts none-the-less).

There are a few other bits that aren't 'quite right' elsewhere, tension in the neck/poll which could be secondary to the initial pain from the windgall.

We're going to try a course of painkillers initially to identify if there is any improvement with her movement/demeanour. If there is then great! We can start searching for a problem to fix. If not I guess i'll have to chop her legs off and put some wheels on! :D

Has any one had/have a similar experience, advice on treatment (of course i'd listen to my vet but would be a good idea of what may potentially lie ahead) or any suggestions - all would be welcome.
