Does anyone know of any joint supplements for this. My friends horse has had vet up and they suspected he has got arthiritus in his coffin joint from an old injury. Does anyone know of anything that would help him.
The vet did say to take him into the vets for a full work up. But friend had him at Leahurst last year and they give him anti inflammatories injected into coffin joint.
But she cannot afford for him to go back as he is now not insured for that leg, and due to being with a rubbish insurance company they would not pay out.

So friend had to fork out 3 thousand pounds in vets bills. And horse has gone lame again in exactly the same time as last year. Her partner has gone mad, and has said he cannot go back and is to go in a field. But I want to see if there are any more straws to clutch onto before he has to go away.

Not that we have any idea where horse is going to go. Dont know any fields around here.

Apple cider vinegar helped my horse loads and he had vetvits equiflex but now he is just on danilon 24/7

My old horse has arthritis in his hocks. He is on 1 Danilon a day and also Maxaflex which seems to help. However, my boy is 30.

Boswellia is a herb that can help arthritic horses, it is kinder to the stomach than devils claw if used long term.

Also a joint supplement with at least 10g glucosamine hydrochloride per day. Check the labels, most dont have this and she would be wasting her money.

Thank you for the help guys, will mention it tomorrow

Just want him to be bit more comfortable.

My gelding has arthritis in both hocks and his near fore fetlock area. He is on a glucosamine supplement with chondroitin which my vet says a lot of the supplements don't have, but is the active ingredient. He is also turned out as much as possible, 24/7 in summer, every day all day in winter. He is hacked 5 sometimes 6 days a week and happy.
