Does anyone have any experience?

My mare has had KS surgery, I suspect some minor changes in her hocks and I’m going to ask the vet to assess when we get her back signed off.

She is a mature lady but I think we have another 3-5 years left in the tank and I want them to be as comfortable as possible. Steroids aren’t suitable because of EMS so I wondered if Arthrimed might be an option, I think I’m looking in the region of £300 per injection?

Hi, I had my my mare's hocks done about 18 months ago. I think they might have to be done again later this year. It is 100% worth it. Great stuff.

Had my mares done 18 months ago too. I think they will need doing again this year but i dont know when. Definitely worth the money. Mine was £700 inc sedation call out and 1 syringe into each hock.

My boy had his coffin joint done in December. He was slightly unlevel in his off fore but is now a lot more comfortable *touches wood* mine was about £300 including sedation so not too bad. He is 25 this year and like yours he loves his work and doesn’t want to retire yet!

It's around £300 per vial and you may need more than one vial ,depending on the number and size of joints medicated.
It's pretty miraculous stuff .

Really wish this had been around when I still had my boy, he couldnt have steroid injections, he had coffin joint arthritis, we might have had a lot more ridden time together than we did.

Just to update. Lameness work up on Wednesday, slightly stiff in her right hind, x-rays showed nothing more than vet would expect for her age, he was pleased with her canter though and said it was much less stuffy than it was pre-surgery. Bloods were taken to see if we could use steroids but she was in the “grey” area so we aren’t risking it. Vet coming out on Thursday to inject Arthrimed in both hocks.
Looking at the Arthrimed website 48-72 hours of box rest and then slowly back into work, they recommend a water treadmill and I’ve contacted Hartpury and will get that booked in.

Trying to find a saddle fitter happy to check it as a static fit too.

Will get physio booked in too.
