My mare has recently been diagnosed with arthritis in a joint under her tongue underneath the gutteral pouch. In order to prevent further damage (bones breaking and causing problems with her balance as in third ear area) she will have to have a section of bone removed that attaches her tongue to the joint.
Has anyone ever had this done to their horse? Any experiences with balance problems due to damage in this area? Any advise or experiences would be very gratefully received
