Thanks for posting this. It is so true. I never suspected laminitis for a minute when my horse first came down with it last December. It presented in only one hoof and so I assumed it was an abscess, and was poulticing it and turning her out!

even though i was aware my mare had laminitis in the past about a week before her acute case last year I thought she looked a bit stiff in her back/pelvis and then a few days later she had it in 3 feet even though she was fine a few hours before. It's not the easy thing to recognise most people seem to think it is!
