Hello I don't normally frequent in here but my OH is having a dog crisis and I'm hoping you can help!
She's a 4 yro Tibetan Terrier and over the past few months has become lame in her hind legs. She's also lost a kilo of weight which is quite a considerable amount!
The vet initially thought arthritis so we fed her with joint flex biscuits, but then as she deteriorated further he then noticed her lymph glands are inflamed. Biopsy shows them as being reactive rather than cancerous(?). He put her on antibiotics and anti-inflamitories and she improved before relapsing again.
Now having been back again, he's taken bloods and all levels are normal except for the something or other that implies chronic inflamation. He's being very vague and wants to do xrays, scans and an infinite number of other tests. But in your experience does this sound like she does have arthirtis after all?
If so what is the best means to managing it? I'm only familiar with horse management but as she is a fussy eater putting NoBute in her food won't achieve very much!
Help! all advice and opinions appreciated!
