hi just looking for any stories from anyone who's dealt with this? My mare has recently been diagnosed with moderate changes in thoracic spine facet joints and Im trying to find out a bit more what her future looks like. TIA

Hiya, late to see this but just going through the same with my gelding and can find so little. What were your experiences?

My older mare rising 19 has this. She has never been comfortable working in an outline but it absolutely hasn’t stopped her from doing anything else. She is fit loves hacking, fun rides, hedge hopping, was teamchasing a few years ago, she could hunt tomorrow.
I think if you keep them fit and strong the muscles will hold them together well. And let them tell you what they want to do.
Xx

Thank you! Hes never shown any symptoms while hacking, just when in the school (I'm not going to say 'when schooling' as he was reacting within the 5 minute warmup without any real work!). I'm hoping with correct rehab plan to build up muscles we can return to a bit of hacking at least as he seems to enjoy it
