As a pet, Would you buy pedigree or mix-breed?

I've never been able to post a pic on here on an iPad (can't work out how to Photobucket. It doesn't seem to click) and my home PC is bust. If I work it out I will!

If you are on the full site for photobucket, click on the pic you want, the codes come up on the right. Copy and paste the img code (takes a few goes for me on an iPad) into a post on here. If you have the photobucket app, click on the pic you want, then click the icon above which gives you a drop down of codes. Again, choose the img code, it copies automatically. Then hold finger on screen in post to paste it in.

Best of both worlds, a lurcher :) Specifically a mainly whippet lurcher, but thats just personal preference as I like small, tough, short coated couch potatoes that are incredibly athletic, and usually totally velcro suck up dogs

Not what I currently have in terms of breed/type but certainly my sort of dog. Both dogs are mongrels/cross breeds - we adopted both from a shelter - but once Fred shuffles off his mortal coil (jrt/collie cross) I'll be having a whippety lurcher. Daisy is most definitely a velcro suck up dog . . . (she's of uncertain parentage but we suspect collie, corgi and possibly springer).

Rescue but at least a definable breed :) My next dog will be a another Rottie, preferably a dog and between 1 - 3 years. Pups are lovely when they belong to other people :) and they get to take them home...

A lot (most) of the crossbreed pups I see advertised appear to be from backyard breeders/puppy farms, unlikely to be healthy and I refuse on principle to support an industry that is despicable IMHO.

We have always had pedigree cavillers.

We gave had over the years a cavi x cocker....was a mistake, farmers working cocker got in with mums pet cavi. She was one of the best dogs we have ever known. A brilliant mix.

I've had two 'rescue' collies (rehomed them off people we knew/friend of friend) one I don't know the breeding of he is nine now. The other I do, dad has got a good hip score and I don't know about mum. He was pts at three with hip dysplasia and spondylitis.

We have a mix pup at the moment, got her at 9 weeks from local rescue. They think her and her sisters are labxcollie, her sisters are full black with white chests and she has colouring very like a kelpie. I'm not sure if the cross is more kelpie than collie as her ears, when up, are very kelpie like, same with face expressions.

We will be looking out for a pedigree cavi or cocker breeder next year. Out 14 year old cavi is looking tired and we would not be with out one as they are amazing dogs

Cos it's not easy on an iPad, the new software still hasn't caught up to the photobucket app or vice versa, who knows?

He is a fluffy bundle of gorgeousness!! I bet he's super mischievous, he has a cheeky terrier expression, so cute! I think you should practise using photobucket and put some more on!!

Ok, I will try a couple more.

Superb! I'm delighted you can do this now, we can all see the Womble! He is madly cute!

I was at a friend's tonight. She has 2 springers, a cocker, a mini schnauzer and a smooth haired fox terrier. It was slightly chaotic, especially as the (inherited) schnauzer has the same name as her husband! I mentioned wanting a standard poodle eventually and was told I'm mad, stick with springers. Even more mad!

It's nice having a different dog in the mix. As you know my others are labs. She's very cute, only young and has a lot to learn. The other two are a bit baffled by her as she doesn't play Labrador games yet (retrieving and swimming). I am loving having something that you can pick up without breaking your back if you need to!
