As a shrink would say, and how does that make you feel ?

I "personally don't like it, and think whoever shot it is a total Ar*****e, what does the rest of the team think ?

I feel sick to my stomach. Yes deer have to be managed and weak and injured stags have to be culled. So how can these stalkers justify shooting a magnificent and healthy stag in the rutting season. As someone said on another post, a huntsman would never have allowed hounds to hunt a stag like that. This news has made me so angry, upset and very sad. He was not past his prime, he could and should have been left to sire another generation. This was just trophy hunting and to make the excuses that it is management is not fooling many of us. Sorry rant over!!!

My Uncle is a very keen deer stalker (hunting of any sort is not for me but I'm not always against it). I know that he takes it very seriously and said he loves deer and finds them beautiful. As far as I know, he would never shoot a stag like that, it's just not what is done. I can't remember how he explained it to me but I know the gist was that it's not common practice to shoot big stags I think.

I didn't really understand it at first but the deer are killed humanely (licencing, rifles etc. appears to be quite strict) and they use all the meat and everything so I don't see a problem with it in that context, though I don't approve of them shooting The Emperor.

PS. I might have got this wrong as I don't know much about it, that's just what I learnt from my Uncle.

I think it is really sad that such a magnificent stag was cut down like that. Shame on whoever pulled the trigger, this was not a weak or ill animal, far from it.

As far as I'm aware they're trying to track down whoever did it, I think thats what it said on the news, although probably unlikely, but I hope they do! Its such a shame, he was certainly a magnificent stag :(
