As above really am thinking about getting a puppy, i already have one dog (a rehomed dog at 6 months (shes my angel) and she needs a friend!! SO, only want a small dog and have seen the cutest pups and hoping to reserve one,,, shes a Jack russle X Chiuouou(sp am sorry for spelling but is chiwowow) so many questions about this sort of x breed and jabs and costs (microchipping) ect any help very much appreciated!!X

chihuahua's are a VERY stubborn breed (my mum has bred them for years) and you re mixing that breed with yet another famed for its stuborness!
as with any breed there ARE exceptions to the rule but if you are set on this little puppy be prepared to be firm, you give an inch and the likelyhood is she will take a mile!
possesiveness is a big trait of chi's too so be firm but fair, ie when feeding make sure she knows that if you want her bowl, food in it or not its yours, but that said make sure she knows it will always come back!
jabs.....depends on your part of the country. here in surrey its close to £70 for the initial set, then £50 per yearly booster.
microchipping is very much encouraged so that tends to be peanuts.....i paid £12 per dog for mine.
good luck!

I'm a vet nurse, ring your local vets and ask them about the jabs as it depends which brands of vaccine they use and how old the pup is etc.Same for microchipping,You are looking at initial vaccination/microchipping costs of around £100 to £150.Then same again at 6 months of age for neutering, which is imperative. Please be aware that as your dog is only 6 months old,she is only a pup herself, if you get another dog at this stage they may well become much more attached to each other than to you!And you may never be able to separate them from each other.A jack russel x chihuahua is a very lively dog, with definite terrier instincts and will need a calm, firm at times, home or he/she could become dominant and take over.Lots of socialising with other dogs or this type can become the typical yappy spoilt lap dog, sorry to say.Lovely, fun dog if brought up well though. Is your dog a female or male, and what sex pup are you thinking of?Am presuming your dog hasn't been neutered yet?Be very careful if you do get a pup of opposite sex, in fact I would advise that you don't!

What type is your dog?At 6 months you have a lot of work to do with her, you have adolescence to come yet, which is when she will challenge you, if she is going to.As an inexperienced dog owner I'd advise you, tbh, to concentrate on your young dog for the next 18 months or so, so she becomes a well adjusted, sociable dog with a good bond with her owner, then maybe introduce a pup.The pup will then learn from a well adjusted dog,as dogs copy each other so much.As she is a rescue dog too this would be more fair on her.I have seen countless pairs of dogs put together at about the same age, and they have developed lots of problems due to over attachment and even aggression against each other due to inexperienced owners. You have to have a clear pack structure and putting 2 youngsters together with a novice dog owner is anything but(apologies). Please wait a while, you will enjoy it a lot more, 2 pups together is a lot of hard work and could easily go horribly wrong.Google APDT for dog training and socialisation tips, there is a lot more to dog behaviour than the average pet owner is aware!

i have had various rescued dogs and puppies(lost my elderly dog i had as a pup 2 years ago) in the past, my dog is a girly and the pup is also a girly!! The nonpup is 2 1/2 and is my shadow, and an angel!!! Am hopin the jackchi, will be lively as my dog at the is a collie and they are quite lively, our life is very active and we enjoy our life to the max as does the dog!!
