would like to thank so many people for their support and encouragement from here.
The names are too many to mention but several have been so supportive when things went dodgy, the people who came and boosted C's courage in the pouring rain when she was dithering about continuing the course. The ones who cheerfully help at events whether horsewalking (!) or removing boots..
The ones who unfailingly say "Well done!" after an event.
The friends we've made who it's now great fun to meet at events, the SW crowd really are such a super crowd, all of them genuinely eager to see each other do well.
Some have even been and stayed here and mucked in like good 'uns..
Even better several forum people now have horses they bought from us, so can't wait to see their progress.
Why I posted this was on another forum there is a question asking how you view the people on here, well having met at least 20 in real life and several have become close friends, I think we have benefitted such a lot from everyone's support.
Here's to next season, to lots of success for everyone, and to friendship; there's lots of it on here...

That is so nice to hear. Although i have not personally been helped you out it is so nice to read how helpful others have been. Hopefully me and Radders will be out eventing soon enough.

I ditto this I made some fab friends as well through this website who have been really supportive. It is great when we are all together at an event. Maybe we should have a stop over one next year

I have to say I have met pretty much all the SW eventers and honorary ones like Diesel Dog and they are genuinely nice and want you to do well. Nobody has paid mega bucks for their horses so all know both highs and lows. The SW meet ups are always fun and pretty low key so must arrange one soon!

Have you had a drink Henryhorn? Seriously though, I have not been using the forum long but I am looking forward to trying to say 'Hello' to some people next year. I don't compete but often help at the cross country start at some of the South West events. (Due to being friends with the starter!)

Aww How lovely, I do know what you mean though, I have met about a dozen or so folks from here thats not including the ones you remember after the event (who are in before or after you, when you are concentrating!). I am a long way from the SW but I do keep an eye out for your posts, so I count as an armchair supporter!

but i doubt i will get to that stage...hope to but unlikely but anyway
Lovely post and right back at y'all

I have had such a fun season meeting friends old and new at events, and it is one of the things about the sport I really enjoy.

Funnily enough I joined this site because I did not know anyone horsey in the SW and now I have got to know people who I genuinely class as friends, which is fabulous.

PS HH - tell CCJ to keep sleeping, I had that bug thing at Broadway, I agree, it is not a good idea to go round the XC feeling like that, nor is it a good idea to drive a lorry, and I have had to have time off work which is most unlike me!

Hear hear Sue. How nice to read a nice post for once.

Sad for Ccj that she'll miss out on tomorrow but here's to looking forward to next season and me finally getting back on the track and competing against you all!

I've only met HH, CCJ, Wishful and Lucretia! I hope I manage to meet a few more next season and with any luck, i'll be able to write my own reports about my days competing too

Will 2nd HH about how nice fellow forum members are. Even helping out when you take the odd fall - looking after horse, calling horse ambulance and getting covered in blood for their efforts - Thanks Boss!
Its also nice the support we give each other when down - forum members have been so supportive to B - thanks again guys you know who you are - hope to meet even more when jumping and stressaging over the winter!!

Might be a bit far but normally do a meet up in Bath around Crimbo time. We could move it closer to the Mway and have it earlier in the day so no late driving back. Maybe on a Sunday lunch?

Yes that would be fairer to be central wouldn't it?
I'm stuffed for the next ten days or so but after that can probably fit in with you.. There should be a few of us, hopefully Sarah Jane can come and Wizoz, me and CCJ, do you think LEC and Spotted Cat will drive that far? (I think Taunton is nearer them than you maybe)
Nothing fancy just a pub meal maybe and a good old natter about the season..
Good idea, perhaps anyone interested could stick their name below with suggestions of dates and somewhere nice to go. (I only know the Pound Shop in Taunton, every time I go there it is full of stocking filler bargains for Chrismas!)

Taunton would be alot easier for them than it would be to you.. but then Bath would be a hell of alot worse!!!
Plus Taunton is alot easier just off the M-way

I don't know Taunton that well, so wouldn't be able to suggest anywhere!!
Sunday lunch sounds nice
smile.gif

But not sure when.

There is a really nice pub just off the Mway junction at Taunton does pretty good food as well.

Am sure we can persuade Boss to come with a bit of arm twisting! She will be home around Dec/Jan time from uni. Would love Cheeky Girl to come across the bridge? Irish Cobs? Spaniel? There are quite a few in SW!

Taunton is 25 mins for me easier to get to than Bath!!

Right that pub sounds perfect ,all we need to do now is fix a date, do you want to put up another post or shall I pm them all?
It's quite a long hike for Cheeky Girl but it woul be great to meet her again.
Oh just thought I can't do weekend of the Equine Fair as we have to be there both days an will have totake Chocx home each night.

Taunton is only about an hour for me so it would be lovely to come down and finally meet you HH! Lunch would be grand, just let me know which pub!

Big hugs to C, she has really had it rough with this bug and it must be so disappointing not to be able to get out this weekend, but as SpottedCat says, its a nasty one so rest is whats needed now.

Youve had a good season and I am certainly looking forward to reading the posts next year. We cheer many of you eventers on in the Spaniel house you know, Mr S can even remember the horses names now!

ohhh firstly would 2nd what HH says and repeat what mum has said about help from everyone, and keeping spirits up when feeling down!

And yee a meet up would be good on a sunday as long as it could be on one f my days off (have 2 off in every 3 sundays!)
