For anyone not near me, last night was p1$$ wet, howling gale, awful conditions! For once - just once, I decided to accept a friends invite, and travel to the depths of IkeNottingham with her. So, I got everything ready for ASBO horse, and a friend was bringing him in with hers. As (Luck??) would have it, friend was stuck in traffic in Burton on Trent, which is gridlock ity currently due to a burst water main and sadly some people still think their cars can go through anything! Anyway, she was understandably delayed by a few hours, when I received 'THE' call. ASBO git had come in, fine. Gone into his stable, no problemo. Ate tea - pfft of course! then.. decided AARRGGHHHHH!!! Broke the additional 'security' bars - 2 6 x 4 timber planks which slot behind door to stop him leaning on it testing it's flex (research only of course) rug? demolished, and generally in a real hissy. Friends were still there, and went in with him, trying to calm him down, with various things, and eventually called me - so thankful I hadn't left, I drove up to the yard to find them both rather squashed, but otherwise ok, and a 'butter wouldnt melt' but visibly 'had been' bolsh-ing horse. So he was lung out for the night in all the rain, As his rug was found IN his water, he couldnt wear it, and obviously he was still wet from his day out - cue one very sorry-state of a horse this morning, he slunk along behind me when I took him from the paddock out to his proper field. WHY?? Just becaiuse I didn't tuck him in? Because 'he could? ARGHHHHHHHHH Darn bolshy cobs!

and no, we never went to Ikea. She gave up :-(

PEDS!!!

Me thinks he is ever so slightly taking the p155!! I do have images of an overgrown thelwell pony in all of this though-I seriously believe he is a shitland at heart!

I'll not be responsible for my actions soon! The 2 lovely friends who brought him in are by no means novice - and they were ust ... horrified i think! and rather anoyed he got the better so quickly! Too smart for his own good - mind you, he soon shut up when he heard my car pull up!

Ooops. Metal bar in the place of the wood in front of the door?

Failing that, manacles

.

Does your stable have a top door and what happens when you shut it?

If it doesn't I would recomment trying one- if they don't have an opening to lean on/charge at, they tend not to bother

The problem with cobs they look dumb thats our first mistake thinking they are my cob is so smart i cant keep up with him. things you think their never would try they do.I cant tell you how many times he made me hold my head in shame and they dont get better as they get older honest

Why did you want to go to Ikea for. We went to the one in Milton Keynes and never again, we got lost in it took ages to get what we wanted and get out. Give me your cob any day much easier.
