Well definitely not taking away her asbo just yet
My hacking partner had to go somewhere else today so I brought Megan up on her own, tacked her up, got to the end of the drive and as expected she had a paddy and ran off to the pony's paddock.
Since D had to leave and I would have no help, decided to take her into the field and do some "work" so she wouldn't get away with doing nothing.
Field is next to the horses field so she galloped off straight to the fence on that side to see Flicka who was unhelpfully standing there whinnying at her
She can be fast when she wants to
We never did get all the way around the field (although I think she was scared of the sheep
) but I started off very small circles back to the gate so she'd know I was going to keep going back to Flicka, then bigger and bigger until we managed a square about half the field and she was basically ignoring the rest of the horses by then

She was a monster for going straight though, and it took quite a lot of effort to get her to walk and not trot the last side of the square back to the gate but we managed!
She did fit in a surprise half pass right across the field at one point when she had a proper paddy because one of the cows looked at her

Anyway, I did get a bit bored (and dizzy) doing circles and squares, so what do you do if you are riding in fields? She doesn't get schooled, all of ours are really just happy hackers but the grass was too wet for jumping anyway!
Her very unimpressed face
Let me out. Now. Please.
