Well definitely not taking away her asbo just yet :p

My hacking partner had to go somewhere else today so I brought Megan up on her own, tacked her up, got to the end of the drive and as expected she had a paddy and ran off to the pony's paddock.

Since D had to leave and I would have no help, decided to take her into the field and do some "work" so she wouldn't get away with doing nothing.
Field is next to the horses field so she galloped off straight to the fence on that side to see Flicka who was unhelpfully standing there whinnying at her  She can be fast when she wants to

We never did get all the way around the field (although I think she was scared of the sheep :o) but I started off very small circles back to the gate so she'd know I was going to keep going back to Flicka, then bigger and bigger until we managed a square about half the field and she was basically ignoring the rest of the horses by then :) :)

She was a monster for going straight though, and it took quite a lot of effort to get her to walk and not trot the last side of the square back to the gate but we managed!

She did fit in a surprise half pass right across the field at one point when she had a proper paddy because one of the cows looked at her  :p

Anyway, I did get a bit bored (and dizzy) doing circles and squares, so what do you do if you are riding in fields? She doesn't get schooled, all of ours are really just happy hackers but the grass was too wet for jumping anyway!

Her very unimpressed face :D
Let me out. Now. Please.

She doesn't bend her neck - she can but won't.
I work on squares. Do a straight line and leg yield, once she yields, we turn and go straight and then leg-yield and as soon as she yields, we turn. This gets her stepping under, its something different and softens her neck.

I also do figure 8s, circles but go one way and then change bend and go other way so the circles move all over the field, serpentines are good.

also lots of transitions. Or I put buckets out and do bending in and out of them.

:D Her face is a picture! You really huffed her off didn't you :D

Good that you didn't let her get away with her behaviour and made her do some work in the field.

I second the figure of eights and putting some small objects out to bend round.

Octagens may be a bit much at the mo. But definitely get some more half passes in :D

I want a video next time please! :)

Yes she went in a big grump :D

Ok eights and buckets if we have to do it again then :)

I know, I keep promising videos, but I had noone to film it and it was generally very boring apart from her prancing about :p

I am more than willing to take this asbo pony off your hands. ;) She can join the ranks of asbo Andy.

Her face is brilliant though, she's so pretty! :D

You can have her, she needs a home ;) She and Andy would make a lovely team :p

She is very pretty, but I think I am a bit biased :D

Ooh and Sarah, she now had 4 shiny new shoes and proper sized feet! :) :)

Funnily enough I was admiring her feet in the photo! She is coming along very nicely :)

You should be proud of yourself for dedicating your time to her :)

Haha the shoes she has now are about twice as thick and wide as the ones she had, didn't really realise how rubbish the old ones were until she got proper ones lol!
Time will tell if she breaks these but she'll have to kick a lot of rocks ;)

Thanks :)
My mum and dad are both off work this week and we are meant to be doing family things :p I got told off for just asking what days I can go to Mossburn :o :D
