Does anyone have any feedback (good or bad) on Ascot Horseboxes in Newmarket? Looking for 3.5ton lorry, all info appreciated :)

I just posted a question re ascot before I saw this.
Are you looking to buy?
I am & they seem reasonable although I'm concerned re their credit history. Although as long as I don't leave a deposit with them it shouldn't be a risk although I'd like feedback on the quality of their builds xx

Hi,
Yes looking to buy a quality 3.5ton, my concerns are exactly the same as yours re build quality and the bankrupt history. Noticed on web that they (Jean luc guillambert) on insolvency list last April/May. I'd like to know if the company is being run by liquidators?? X

Just noticed today, all their horseboxes are framed in red & say reduced.
Great for us if so but obviously don't want to pay as much as advertised if warranty etc. won't be honoured.
Can't believe nobody has replied? I thought more people who own them?
Shall we go visit together & grill, lol. Safety in numbers.
So much money to spend & for me it'll only come once so want to get it right. Xx

It looks like the company director is a family member (same last name) so would assume it's not with the liquidators. I have got cold feet about them, why do they keep having financial troubles? It is also a big one off investment for me, if they turned out to be disreputable and warranty worthless I couldn't afford to have a box go wrong. They are a good 2hrs away from me so not convenient to go and look at the build quality but if you do go and have a look, let me know what you think. X

If you are looking for a horse box manufacturer in the Newmarket area phone up a few of the racing yards and ask them about their 3.5 ton horse boxes They will tell you which manufacturers build good ones and offer a good back up service. Also visit local yards to you and ask people who built their lorries. You are always best getting one from a local reliable builder.
