Ashford market

Yes there are some horrible types at Ashford, but also some very nice people.

One of my friends has bought several ponies from there over the years, admittedly most because she felt sorry for them.

And they've all turned out well, her children and grandchildren have ridden them and she's kept them all until they've died.

I was going to ask the same just found out that one of our poor horses is being put in, really upset by this she derserves better poor old thing, was going to see if anyone was going could keep any eye out and see what happened to the poor thing, I think I know waht is going to happen and do not want to even go there :(

I expect you already know but she sold well out of meat money and it was a telephone bidder so someone who knew her perhaps? She looked very calm and not at all worried. Nice mare.

There was such a nice NF x TB. I went off to get a plate of chips and came back with a bidding number just in case  but he went for good money.

Bidding was quite strong. I know markets get a bad name but it was OK.

Thank you for that we did offer her £600 cash to save her going there plus the charges owner what have paid but she said no, Millie just walked in box never been in one in her life, she is great on the ground but not good to ride I just worry that someone might have thought nice safe hack at that age, and that she is not. Hope they give her a chance and try to overcome her problems without giving up on her, thanks for letting me know.

Wish I had gone now as from there originally (well Dover).

I bought Samba from the market. And have had another project from there as well.

I was meant to go but cudnt get out of training day :( I normally come back with something I dont need. The one time I didnt get go, I got a call from a friend and went up to see Samba lol.

Hi there. Firstly they do not accept phone bids at ashford as I phoned up about this and they do not do it. So whoever suggested that this happened with one of the horses must be mistaken x

If any one bought the 16hh Loss of use mare can they please get in touch. My friend had this mare for two years and would love to know where she has gone as she was on loan. The catalogue details were utter rubbish and did not disclose her real medical issue as to why she was stamped LOU and did not have a year off. Infact the injury was recent, not in 2009 as it suggested. Please PM if you have any details.

There was someone at the ringside bidding on behalf of someone, she had a mobile phone to her ear and was relaying the bids from the person on the phone. The auctioneer was OK about it as the person by the ringside had a bidding number. He even referred to her as the telephone bid :D

Oh sorry, I was gonna say why wouldn't they take my phone bid :p
Didn't realise someone was bidding on her behalf.

I wanted to make a phone bid on the little 12hh jumping pony. Does any one know if this sold? If you still have this pony please get in touch. :D

My boy had a nodular one on his sheath and a flat one on his face where the noseband sits.
After doing a fair bit of research on the net, I discovered that the horse could poss need its immune system boosted.I have been using global herbs immuplus for 6 weeks and the one on his sheath shrunk and fell off yesterday :), the one on his nose I am using thuja cream, only started that on Monday this week so watch this space.
I will keep up the immuplus for as long as I need to, he has a few other issues too, which all contribute to a low immune system, the difference in him is amazing since being on it too.
Good luck
Kate
