Ashley Holzer/Black-eyed Peas fabulous freestyle

that's amazing

(am I allowed to say I welled up a little bit for no reason?!)

Yep, I welled up too. Daft, huh.

It's weird, but because they made a few mistakes, it really showed how exceptionally difficult it was. When I watched Edward and Totilas, the sheer perfection of it, the fact that there were NO mistakes at all, somehow managed to mask the difficulty, made it seem easier than it was, instead of showing how exceptional they were to be able to do it totally flawlessly. Very odd.

The Florence and the Machine song is one of my favourites, and my dream one day is to do a dressage to music, I always listen to that wondering how it could work.... now I know! Nice to see a happy horse and rider looking like they were having a ball

i wasn't that keen  i liked some bits of it- think the black eyed peas bit looked awesome...but thought that other bits didn't 'go'.... guess thats why i'm not a dressage judge then isn't it!!

Amazing, as I hate The Black Eyed Peas, but it worked so well with the horse's rhythm! Also loved the Florence track (but I love her music anyway, and it worked effortlessly). It's so good to see new music that's not the 'norm' used - so bored of 'elevator' music. Would love to see someone use Goldfrapp's 'Utopia' - such a stunningly atmospheric song, that I can see working very well with certain movements.

Same here DB :p :D
To me the horse didn't seem expressive enough for the music used......but maybe thats because we are in the Totilas era where most horses are VERY expressive in their movement.

Oh well just my view on it :)

I love it when someone shakes up dressage a bit and has some different music - I quite like lyrics too. However, I'll go against the grain here and say I didn't enjoy this at all - in fact I didn't even watch to the end. It looked laboured and lumpy and I wasn't enjoying her hands.....

That said, horse was super cute and I applaud anyone that has the guts to get out there and do something different.

Same, one of the main ways we're told to get the 'easy marks' (I know it's not really easy!!!) is to ride accurately, maybe it was the camera angle but it looked far from precise and the horse did not seem to be enjoying himself :o

oooh glad i'm not on my own being not that keen...was beginning to think there was something wrong with me :o (really i'm a sheep and dislike being different ;) )
