I want to do our first PN at one of these venues, has anybody got any experience at either of these good or bad...(p.s Horseys not keen on ditches, she will do them just has to build her confidence a bit more, so a ditchless PN would be good..)

I've done Aske, it's really really lovely but it's quite big-ish I would say so maybe not the best for a first time. I think there was one ditch but can't remember it being very hard.

It's a stunning venue, the nicest event I've been to I think.

I don't particularly mind the height, I am basically doing a run up of events in September consisting of -

Cleobury Mortimer,Winkburn Park & Stafford

All of these I will be doing at Intro level so thought if all goes as well as she has been good recently then I would like to finish off the season at PN Level.

I hate MM the ground isn't great and the course isn't flowing they have a trakehener not a ditch.

Aske is lovely flowing traditional course, they used to have a coffin in the PN although think it was just ditch to a log with the ditch in a bit of a dip but last year they didn't use it so not sure what they'll do this time. Much nicer place/organised/ground/course/etc etc can't really compare them. It would be bigger than the PN at MM but becasue its well built jumps better.

Sounds like you'll have had plenty of practice then!

Don't know what the other one is like but Aske is a really nice event to do, the XC course is really nicely built and the location is STUNNING!

Good luck what ever you decide!

Winkburn has an open ditch that is quite spooky in the PN and N not sure what the intro do at that though?

Moreton Morrell is lovely,
I've never been to aske But if i had the horse power i would do MM. Granted the ground isn't great but the jumps are nice and simple, nothing too complex and the Trekhaners are nicely set and easy to come at.
