Now the English aspasragus season has finally started I am having it regularly, well every day 'cos I love it. :D

Anyhoo I chop off the bottoms to even up the spears, is it safe to feed to horses?

Thanks.

Hi I don't have a glut, I am just a glutton for them, my favourite food. But I hate the ends and for some reason I don't like asparagus soup, so can't use them for that.

the ends are tough so its best picked young- i love he stuff too, especially when grown in this country, and the season here is so short but i'd still not feed it to the horses.

For the ends, cut them finely (ish) in rounds and put on a baking tray - drizzle with olive oil, add salt and pepper and parmesan shavings and pop in the over until tender. Really yummy. Can also be added to sauces etc. My tummy is now rumbling!!
