To save me having to ring my mother again :o how often can I give Islay asprin for her broken toe?

I have got pure asprin for the dogs, 300mg tablets, and Islay is around 25kg?

My old lad (old fashioned GSD, weighs about 35-40kg) gets one 300g tablet a day (half am, half pm) to ease his stiff joints, I think this is the max you are supposed to give for a big dog. It works well :) I use dispersible aspirin on the advice of a (horse :o) vet, it is easier on their stomachs apparently. If you go to a pharmacist you should be able to pick up 75mg dispersible tablets so you can use less than 300mg without having to try snapping tablets into little bits ;)

Brilliant, thanks :) These are dispersable as well, so that is OK, I will adjust the dose accordingly :)

Sorry about my inability to spell aspirin  I knew it needed an extra i somewhere :D

Because the vet I consulted last night suggested aspirin would be more effective

Not to mention more cost effective ;)

Whilst we're on the subject, I was told it was okay to give dogs paracetamol. Obviously I've never had need to, but is it true?

I sometimes share the dog's Piriton - is this wrong?! It's for people, isn't it?!

And don't forget Prozac. I wish I was joking....although mine are not on this, I should probably be :p

Haha CC yes fear not, you will not start barking any more than normal, piriton is a human medication! :D
Tills shares my tramacet when her neck thingy plays her up...cos my prescription for it is free and hers is not! :o :p :D
