Hi there 👋🏽

Was just wondering whether anyone could point me in the direction of some sources which clearly state the types of cross country fences allowed in each level of British Eventing from Be100- Intermediate? I know roughly which fences come in where from walking courses and videos etc but cannot include this without a reference.

Thanks in Advance 😊

There is a link on the BE website to the rule book, and that will have the fence dimensions etc in.

ETA - there is a link to the rule book for 2019 part way down this page... https://www.britisheventing.com/asp-net/news/item.aspx?id=7992

It leads to a PDF.

There is also a list of suggested fences, but I fund to my detriment that courses don't always stick to them! For example steps should not be bounces at BE90. But, sometimes they are!

ETA- I can't find the BE document now, but have found a similar one for Eventing Ireland. BE did have a similar one, but I recollect it did take some finding last time I looked.

Hi, Thankyou, should have said have looked in the rule book at fence height and course length, speed etc, but am struggling to find when certain fences are allowed to come in to the courses such as bounces or fences in the water etc 😊 ie I know trakeheners can be included from 90 and jumps in to water from 100/Novice but cannot find evidence to back this up 😊 list of fences is perfect! Thankyou

I would contact BE for their document. The definitely had one, and it is the type of document that should be available. I used it to train a young horse for his first event and the course I chose had a fence that was waaaaay outside the guidelines, so we did half the course and then retired!

Thankyou so much for your help i will email BE and see if I can get a copy of their document! Knew there was something somewhere with the information I needed assumed it would be in the rule book but that would be too simple! 😂 Very grateful for your help 😊
