Hi, I am looking for recommendations for yards in (or very close to) the following areas: TN13, TN14, TN15, TN11. Does not need to have immediate availabilty (I am happy to go on a waiting list, even a long one, as we do not have a horse at present). However, I know the some of the best yards have long waiting lists, therefore, would prefer to get my name on a list sooner rather than later! I am looking for the following:
  • Assisted DIY (with the options for extras/holiday cover as needed). No recommendations for full livery please as we want to look after our horse ourselves, but with turnout/bring-in assistance on work/school days.
  • A yard that allows horses to be horses, with unrestricted turnout! Decent, all year-round turnout (including in bad weather) and able to live out overnight in the summer months
  • Floodlit arena
  • Good hacking
  • Yard that accepts sensible teenagers (horse will be a mother-daughter share)
  • Nice liveries to hack with and no bitchiness or drama!
Ideally recommendations from existing liveries/yards you have used yourself please- I really want to get this right for the long-term and don't want to be moving six months down the line because somewhere isn't suitable for my horse/our needs! I have looked on livery list, Facebook etc but most of the best yards in this area seem to be found by word of mouth, hence I am looking for personal recommendations. Many thanks

Cedars Equestrian run by Claudine Russell at Marden, Kent. Has all that you have mentioned and has a waiting list but you are welcome to go and view before you put your name on the list.

Thank you. Does she definitely do Assisted DIY? I could only see Part Livery on her website? Looks like a lovely yard though
