Hi all, Ive been a lurker here for a while and need your help... I live in Richmond and am looking for assisted grass livery or assisted DIY with 24/7/365 turn out within a 40 odd min drive. My mare was on DIY in claygate which is a brill location for me, but working Long hours in london i just didnt have the time and was getting comments about not being down until 8ish in the evening. Now at a terrific livery yard in cobham which is perfect but waaay too expensive - i pay 500 a month and thats part mon - fri and DIY at weekends. This is getting on for nearly half my takehome pay and is simply unsustainable. I lost my sharer recently (and 155 a month) and am looking but is difficult to find someone willing to pay as so many money rich time poor owners round here offering free rides and as i only get to ride at weekends i would ideally want a sharer weekdays only. So Im looking for grass livery at a yard where she can be checked and fed twice a day during the week. Needs to have good grazing and fencing with shelter and ideally hardstanding and stable for emergency. School and jumping paddock a nice extra but good hacking essential. Im prepared to pay a premium for this and know surrey prices, as long as im saving on what i pay at the moment!

Gold star for anyone who has read this far and any suggestions welcome!

Hiya, give emily a call her number is 07917 880987, yard easily accesible from richmond and they can feed 2x a day for you. They only have space for a mare at the moment which should suit you! Fantastic hacking, hard standing tie up etc. school with showjumps etc. You'd easily be able to get a sharer too round here if you needed one. Only thing without is an actual shelter but they have plenty of natural shelter, get hay through winter etc. Wesbite is: www.denbiesstables.co.uk. Hope that helps!

Thank you, will check it out. Think is prob a bit far... more like an hour away in traffic... but i might be suprised :) Any other options (claygate, weybridge, addleston, byfleet?) Gratefully received. Thanks all - this place is fab!

I'm sure I just commented on this but it hasn't appeared! Anyway, I sometimes drive past Poynters in Cobham - they look as if they may do grass livery. It looks a bit rough and ready but maybe the prices reflect that?

This place looks nice and is much cheaper but doesn't look as if they offer grass livery in the summer - may be negotiable?

The grazing isnt good at Southwood manor - and wouldnt be my choice of yard personally - poynters always used to do grass livery so should still do, not the prettiest yard and the school is small but grazing is excellent - however they wouldnt do assisted unless you could make friends with a diy livery to feed yours perhaps ? The other thing would be obviously to make sure there was another grass livery so yours wouldnt be on its own .. good luck in your hunt !

What about Shepperton/Bedfont way quite a few yards in that area reasonably priced and hacking ok, or a yard in Northolt again very reasonable and hacking is very good?? Pm if you want any numbers.

I drive past Poynters every morning and evening Monday to Friday - would be happy to drop in and feed for you in return for the odd ride!

Hi

Don't know if you are still looking for somewhere for your mare but I may be able to help you. I have my own small yard in Horsell (near Woking/Chobham). I do currently have a vacancy for an assisted grass livery for a mare but she would have to be a very nice kind mare. She would be out with three other mares. I have direct access to Horsell Common with no road work and have a 60 x 40 sand/rubber school. If you are interested please let me know.

temple court clandon do assist grass liverie lovely yard

I can't quote as on phone - am now at lovely grass livery place near woking, about 45 min down A3. Assistance is available. If you want real budget check out osterly in Isleworth. No frills grazing for 28 a month, hayed daily in winter for 1.50 a day. No hacking or school but might suited retired horse on a budget. Ask at the farm shop its what I did and they were very approachable. Or try old farm in hampton? Not looked at it for about 10 years but from the A316 it looks like it has been smartened up. Otherwise google surrey horse retirement it is in esher and looks fab.

Hope this helps!
