Aston le Walls report - rider needs sat nav!

Had a great day at Aston today, but am totally furious with myself still!!!

Did fab dressage for 34 - 3rd in section. For once she got the marks she deserved and was really pleased with her test. Jumped a lovely clear SJ and was absolutely mega xc...until rider got a little bit lost and ended up the wrong side of the string for next fence

had to find a gap in the string and get back to the fence and jump it without crossing tracks! We managed it, but got 9 time penalties. Was totally livid with myself for being so stupid - no idea what happened I just had a total brain blank for a second!

Came home before class ended thinking I'd blown it - just had a call from friend to say finished 7th, so not as bad as I thought! XC caused lots of problems. Although would have been 2nd if no brain rider had done a better job!!

Oh well, was a good last PN run before she goes novice next weekend and thats what really matters!

anyway satnav would probably have taken you to the wrong end of the course not just the wrong side of the string! a good old map may have been better! i cant talk either - i got lost too

Well done, yesterday they had to move some string because people were getting too close to a fence .I hope that didn't cause the problem with you today.

I was so angry with myself for being so stupid, but it could have been worse I guess, at least the outcome of my stupidity was only 9 time pens and not elimination for missing a fence or something! Horse doesn't know we went wrong anyway! She still thinks she's a star - which she is!

Looking forward to burnham beeches...I think!!

Actually would have won if no brain rider had done better job - typical! Didn't do it when I had a rubbish dressage mark did I!!! Oh well - it was the good run I needed before Burnham and thats what matters...she keeps telling herself...!
