To add I've also tried Coligone as well as the max gut health and equinox. That made zero difference, didn't help with the loose poos or gassyness either.

If you can find meadow type grazing to try her on and find that it improves her, you could always reseed your land, although that's not the cheapest option!

I think my husband would kills me:rolleyes: no joking aside if it worked I think we'd be open to doing it but would have to know it was definitely worth it first.

Definitely need to know if it would help first, much too expensive to try as a maybe! Just thought I'd mention it as an alternative, as there are companies out there that can do custom grass/herb mixes (I've heard good things about cotswold seeds, although not used them myself) so if you knew the rough composition of grazing she did well on you'd be able to ask for a seed mixture with those grasses and herbs. A variety of non-grass species are often found in old pasture and can be very beneficial.

Another possibility is sweet-itch / flies irritating her. The seasonality and 'worse after rain' would fit.
When one of ours developed sweet itch, he became spooky and nappy almost overnight.

Nope definitely no sweet itch with her, thanks for your reply though! it's a bloody difficult one with her!

You could be describing my horse perfectly.
After several years I've discovered hers is mainly grass affected combined with hormones.
Shes ow on regumate ,restricted grass, ad-lib meadow hay ,grazezy from chh and maintenance sulcrafate and salt.
Have you taken pH of her urine as that will show if acidic or alkaline.
Mine used to be a lunatic if grazing was changed and they will be worse when it's rained.
Some horses are best on a dry lot with no grass at all.

Mine was exactly as you describe, particularly after rain. He had 45 issues on the calm healthy horses checklist which went down to none after changing some things. This allowed him to stay on the rye grass and clover grazing without restricting grazing as I wasn't allowed to.

I found a website called Gotcha Equine which is like calm, healthy horses and followed their diet plan but using cheaper / easier to find products. The biggest difference came from a combination of soaking hay, magnesium, probiotic and prebiotic, salt and Brewers Yeast. None of the things on their own fixed it, it was a combination of everything together. I've got a load of notes which might help, so PM me if you'd like them.

Interestingly the ph test varied until I added brewers yeast, then it was always the same. I don't know why but it worked.
