Am so glad to be back on line.
Had a bit of a panic a few weeks ago when my mare had an accident in a trailer going to a show. She slipped and fell over getting stuck under the partition. Couldnt get her up for about 20 mins as she went in to shock. Ended up walking her the mile and a half to the show ground and getting a vet out who stitched up her leg. Then the wound broke down 4 days later so had stiches removed and it flushed out and dressed. Then 4 days after that she got a major infection in it so vet back out, changed antibiotics and told to keep the wound uncovered. That was 4 weeks ago, leg is healing but lunged her on a big circle tonight and she didnt look right behind she was trotting quite 'wide' behind and looked rather stiff (but thats to be expected). Got physio lady coming on the 18th so fingers crossed nothing majorly wrong and she can start doing light work.
And thankgod she didnt abort the foal, the vet and the phsyio was worried that she would abort as she went into shock quite badley and seemed depressed for about a week after accident. But had her scanned the other week and baby alive and everything looks good. Fingers crossed nothing else is wrong!!!!
