At what age do welsh ds roughly stop growing?

I think roughly about 4-5 i had a sec D mare who made 14.3 by time she was 3and a half she never got taller than that but she still continued to fill out until she was about 5ish. love for the section d's

a lot of folk say that the hight they are at a yr old they should be 1 hand bigger as a 2yr old then grow another hand between 2 and fully grown dont know if thats right like. my boy is 14.2 just over he was 14.1 at a yr and his breeder guessed he'd make 16hh.ish so i think she will be right

mine is 7 and he's still filling out. i'm sure he's grown an inch or so since i got him last year too.

Mine was barely 14.2hh when I bought her as a four year old, as a nine year old she now measures in at more like 14.3hh. She's grown outwards and filled out more than anything to do with height though, I think it's all just muscle development.

From what I remember from reading up on this subject. Sec D's only truly finish maturing at around 8 years old (growth plates fused etc), they are known to be very slow maturing, so it does take a while!

Genie is 6, and has grown almost 2 inches since I bought her last year. She's now just under 15hh.

i think it's about 7/8

Height wise they tend to curtail at around 5/6

But like most have already said, they are slow to mature so don't finish filling out properly until 7/8

Mine appears to have just stopped - 14hh when I bought him as a 3 year old and now (too big) at 15.2 and just turned 7!

Between 7 and 8.

I've had two, and both stopped growing upwards at 7, but still matured outwards until they were 8.

Mine is 14.1hh, has been that for a year. She's just 4yrs.

She's developed a wither, but no more height!
