I know this is not correct in here, but will also post in the vets section but I am DESPERATE to know if anyone else has ever had the same problem...............
Rode Mister, he was fab, no probs.....then in the afternoon he went very sullen, could hardly walk and was standing with his head and neck to the left, he would not bend to the right......had vet up, he could not tell what the problem was... he injected him with Steriod anti-inflamatory........this morning he seemed a little perkier but still no able to bend to the right with his head....he could this morning bend his neck but his head was tilted. I believe it is the Atlanto-axial joint which is the pivot joint which enables the lateral flexion of the head.....which is not working when you ask him to turn his head to the right. Left is fine. No obvious heat/swelling etc... I think his mandible area on the left is now a little narrower than the right........I am having him x-rayed on Monday (vet wants any swelling there may be inside??!! to go down before x-raying) so we can eliminate bone....... I am soooooooo upset............last horse was put down at age of 6 and horse before that was retired to redwings at age of 7...........please send some vibes/chant/ whatever as I do not want my boy to be ill.................thankyou........
