On the news today. A woman who was caring for a dressage horse tried to feed it rat poison. Luckily she was spotted on CCTV and found out before much harm had been done.
She pleased guilty saying she could not remember doing it as she was taking painkillers. She was given a conditional discharge plus some compensation!!
I think this was very lenient

Read the article in the Telegraph about it. All very odd. The owner of the horse said there had been no falling out about anything.

Possibly Munchausen syndrome by proxy?
Have other horses on the yard suffered odd illnesses that this person was the hero who raised the alarm and saved them?
That wasn’t mentioned. The owner noticed pink granules on the floor of the stable.

Very odd. No explanation beyond ‘I don’t remember doing it’ given.

Horrific. By the way she pretended to out the poison into her own horse then changed it to the other is suspicious in itself. I'm glad the horse was OK, and well done that observant, questioning YO.

I would imagine she will find it tricky to find a new livery yard who will accept her!
